An empty craps table

Welcome to the thrilling world of craps, where the roll of the dice can change your fortunes in an instant. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll take you through the exciting terminology of craps and provide insights into the various betting options and their payouts. So, get ready to roll the dice, make strategic decisions, and most importantly, have a blast at the craps table.

Craps Terminology

  1. Shooter: The player rolling the dice.
  2. Come Out Roll: The initial roll to establish the point.
  3. Pass Line: A fundamental bet that wins with a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll and loses on a 2, 3, or 12. Then, if the number is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 (called the “point”) you are betting you hit that number again before you “seven out”.
  4. Don’t Pass Line: Betting against the Pass Line. Wins on a 2 or 3 on the come-out roll and loses on a 7 or 11. Then, if the number is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, you are betting seven is rolled before that number is rolled again.
  5. Craps: A 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll.
  6. Snake Eyes: A roll of double ones (1-1).
  7. Boxcars: A roll of double sixes (6-6).
  8. Seven Out: Rolling a 7 before hitting the point.
  9. Come Bet: Similar to Pass Line, but placed after the come-out roll.
  10. Hardway Bet: Betting on a specific pair of numbers, double 2, 3, 4, or 5.

  • 5 and 9 pays 3 to 2 and charge 5% vigorish.

  • 6 and 8 pay 5 to 6 and charge 1 for every 24 bet.
